Parent wellbeing + emotional regulation

Support for when parenting feels overwhelming, reactive or hard to navigate.

I provide a warm, supportive space where parents can feel understood, make sense of what’s happening beneath the surface, and begin creating change with compassion rather than shame.

Together, we explore patterns and triggers, strengthen emotional regulation, and help you show up with more calm, confidence, and connection in parenting.

Parents seek support because they care deeply and want to feel more steady in themselves.

Parenting can bring stress, overwhelm, guilt, and moments where your reactions feel bigger or more intense than you’d like. You may notice yourself feeling anxious, emotionally stretched, or easily activated by your child’s needs, behaviour, or big emotions.

In these moments, it can feel hard to stay grounded or respond in the way you intend to. Instead, you might find yourself feeling reactive, depleted, or caught in cycles of frustration and self-criticism.

You may also carry ongoing self-doubt — wondering if you’re doing enough, or questioning whether you’re getting it “right.”

Whatever your experience looks like, parenting can begin to feel emotionally demanding, overwhelming, and difficult to navigate alone.

Together, we’ll strengthen your emotional regulation to create more calm + connection.

Beneath the reactivity and overwhelm, you may be carrying:

  • Stress from your own childhood experiences
  • A constantly activated or overloaded nervous system
  • Limited emotion regulation tools or support
  • Little space to care for yourself or process your own needs
  • Fear, shame, guilt, self-doubt, or regret
  • A deep need for support, connection, and understanding

Working collaboratively, we’ll make sense of what’s happening beneath the surface, strengthen your capacity to respond rather than react, and build practical, sustainable strategies that support both you and your child.

Parent wellbeing support can help you:

  • Recognise + manage triggers
  • Regulate your emotions and support your child with theirs
  • Calm your nervous system and feel more grounded
  • Develop greater self-compassion as a parent
  • Understand the beliefs and experiences shaping your responses
  • Notice patterns without judgement or shame
  • Clarify your goals as a parent
  • Reflect on the emotional environment you want to build for your family
  • Identify your strengths and available supports
  • Strengthen your capacity to respond rather than react
  • Feel more able to reconnect with yourself and your child after conflict
  • Create more space for your own needs and interests
  • Develop routines that support parent wellbeing

My approach

I work collaboratively with parents, building on existing strengths. You’ll gain practical tools and skills that support both your wellbeing and your child’s, while strengthening your relationship. My goal is for you to leave each session feeling supported, confident, and clear.

Though my therapeutic style is warm, and compassionate, I also offer clear structure and direction. Together, we set goals to guide our work and give us a shared focus. I may also offer helpful resources between sessions to support your progress.

At the same time, I recognise that life – and parenting – is messy, and the focus of our sessions need to respond to your evolving needs. In each session, I meet you where you are, while keeping the bigger picture of your growth in mind. This allows you the freedom to share openly, reflect deeply, and develop meaningful insights.
